Chapel Carn Brea
Chapel Carn Brea
Chapel Carn Brea is known as the 'first and last hill' in Britain — a barrow-topped summit above St Just, the most westerly hill on the English mainland. A Neolithic chambered cairn sits at the top, opened up by excavation in the 1980s, and from 200 metres the whole of West Penwith spreads out below: Land's End, the Scillies on a clear day, and the sweep of Mount's Bay. Short walk up from the car park; big reward.
