Lamorna 5
Lamorna
Lamorna is a wooded granite valley tumbling to the sea south-west of Penzance — granite quarries on the upper slopes, a cove at the bottom, and a pub (the Lamorna Wink) halfway up. The valley was beloved of the Newlyn School painters — Alfred Munnings, Laura Knight, Dame Laura Knight among them — and their work still hangs in the Penlee House Gallery in Penzance. Quiet now, still beautiful.
