Carn Gloose 2
Carn Gloose
Carn Gloose, above Cape Cornwall, is the site of Ballowall Barrow — a Bronze Age burial chamber rebuilt in the 19th century with Victorian enthusiasm and one of the widest Atlantic views anywhere in Britain. The barrow dates from around 2000 BC and sits on the cliff-edge above the old Wheal Edward mine. A short walk from St Just brings you to it. Ancient, wind-swept, and rarely busy.
