Zennor Church

The parish church of St Senara at Zennor is the one with the mermaid carving — a 15th-century pew-end showing the Mermaid of Zennor, who (legend says) lured Matthew Trewhella the chorister down to her kingdom beneath the sea. The church itself is a fine granite Norman building in the middle of the village.
