Achill Island 1
Achill Island
Achill is the largest of Ireland's offshore islands, sitting off the western edge of County Mayo and joined to the mainland by a slim road bridge. The cliffs of Croaghaun rise 668 metres straight out of the Atlantic — among the highest sea cliffs in Europe — and the island's five Blue Flag beaches face the full weight of the ocean. Empty bog, peat-cut mountains, and wrecked villages like Slievemore give Achill a stark, weather-worn beauty that sits well on a wall. A print that brings a little of the wild west of Ireland into the room.
