Carn Galver
Carn Galver
The Carn Galver engine houses stand on the moors above Gurnard's Head and Zennor, the roofless stacks of one of West Penwith's loveliest small mines. Tin was worked here in the early 19th century, and the ruins now sit in a landscape of heather, granite, and the sea below. A short walk from the lay-by on the B3306 between St Ives and Pendeen brings you to them. A quintessential Penwith mining-and-moor scene.
