Cawsand
Cawsand
Cawsand sits with its twin Kingsand in the south-east corner of the Rame peninsula, a line of pastel-painted cottages looking across Plymouth Sound. A smugglers' village by reputation and a sailors' one by day, it's a short walk from the old customs boundary between Cornwall and Devon that used to run between the two. Calmer and quieter than anywhere around Plymouth, with a ferry across the Sound in summer.
