Helston is the Georgian market town at the top of the Lizard peninsula — wide streets, a classical 19th-century façade, and a town-wide festival (Flora Day) every 8th May that's one of the oldest continuous customs in England. The quiet days between are quiet indeed, but the town is the gateway to the Lizard and the Helford.
