Camborne

Camborne

Camborne is the granite heart of Cornwall's mining country, twinned with Redruth and once the richest square mile on earth for tin and copper. Richard Trevithick — pioneer of high-pressure steam — was a Camborne man, and the town still runs the Trevithick Day festival every April. Look up from any street in Camborne and a mine-stack will be on the skyline somewhere. A print of Cornwall's industrial soul rather than its picture-book face.
