Lost Gardens of Heligan
Lost Gardens of Heligan
The Lost Gardens of Heligan were Victorian pleasure gardens that vanished into brambles after the Great War — the gardeners went to the trenches, most did not return, and seventy years of neglect followed. In 1990 Tim Smit (of Eden Project fame) began their restoration. The Jungle, the Lost Valley, the Productive Gardens, and the mossy Mud Maid are among the most loved sights in Cornwall.
